Update from Al-Husayni Madressa Principal - November 7 2010 PDF Print E-mail
Salam Alaykum,
There have been many requests from several teachers if we can try and do a small program for the children on November 21st, for the celebration of Eid al-Adha (Hajj Eid).  We have already planned a lunch and gifts presentation for the children but some teachers wanted to do a little presentation in which some of the children would take part and play out a part of the Hajj rituals. My only concern was the time factor and whether or not you as the teachers would have time to prepare this with your students as we only have two weeks to do this (this Sunday and next Sunday).
If possible, we would request if the teachers can come this Sunday November 7th at 11:30 AM at the IHS to discuss what we should do in this regards. I will ask one of the teachers to begin the discussion and fill the other teachers in as I myself might be a couple of minutes late as Shaykh Saleem is working in the morning so as soon as he finishes his work, we will leave, but we may be a little bit late.
One teacher had suggested that some of the students read out a poem while some of the kids do Tawaf around a model of the Ka'bah that would be built. Another teacher suggested playing out the acts of Prophet Ibrahim and Ismail enacted in the Hajj.

If we can discuss these issues on Sunday morning, it would be good.

was Salam,
Arifa Hudda

Introduction to Islam

Dennis Wholley meets Imam Hassan Qazwini, leader of the Islamic Centre in Dearborn, Michigan, to discuss the fundamental beliefs of Islam, and remove any misconceptions the general public may have. Many  Non-muslims have the idea that the Islamic clerics and leaders are hostile and unapproachable, however Dennis Wholley shows that the Islamic leaders (Imams) are normal people like you and I, striving for a better future for upcoming generations.
