Salaamun alaikum

Programs to be held at the IHS Centre for this week are as follows:

1) On Thursday, July 4th (Sha'baan 24th) we will have the Shabe Jumu'ah program. Program will begin at 7:30pm (Please note time) with the recitation of Surah Yaseen, Dua Kumayl, Majlis by Shaykh Saleem Bhimji - continuation of the Commentary of Salawat-e-Sha'baniyyah, followed by Ziyarat. Salatul Maghribain at prime time.

Refreshments to follow.

2) On Friday, July 5th (Sha'baan 25th) we will have Salatul Jumu'ah to begin at 1:25pm led by Shaykh Saleem Bhimji.

Please note of the JUMU'AH CHANGE:

According to some of the Ulama, such as Ayatullah al-Uzma Sayyid Ali al-Husayni as-Seestani, Salatul Jumu'ah is WAJIB TA'KHEERI - meaning that if all of the conditions are met for the Jumuah salat, one can perform it with the 'wajib ta'kheeri' intention and then one DOES NOT have to pray Zuhr. Keeping this in mind, we will be following the below schedule for the Friday prayer service:

1. Adhan
2. Two Khutbahs
3. Salatul Jumu'ah
4. Immediately after Salatul Jumu'ah, we'll have Iqaamah and perform Salatul Asr
5. After Asr, the special Du'a for the Month of Sha'baan will be recited
5. Those wishing to stay behind to pray their own prayers, Duas, or Ziyarat and to greet the believers are free to do so once Asr is finished.
The reason for this change is that many people need to get back to work and other responsibilities - in this way, all of those present will be able to perform their Asr in Jama'at and receive the Thawaab or the Jama'at prayers. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to contact us.

Introduction to Islam

Dennis Wholley meets Imam Hassan Qazwini, leader of the Islamic Centre in Dearborn, Michigan, to discuss the fundamental beliefs of Islam, and remove any misconceptions the general public may have. Many  Non-muslims have the idea that the Islamic clerics and leaders are hostile and unapproachable, however Dennis Wholley shows that the Islamic leaders (Imams) are normal people like you and I, striving for a better future for upcoming generations.
