Programs for October 2nd 2014 - INCLUDING SALAAT EID PDF Print E-mail
Salam Alaykum
Programs to be held at the IHS Centre (81 Hollinger Cres) [except for Amaals on Saturday] are as follows:
1. On Thursday October 2nd (7th of Dhul Hijjah), we will be commemorating the martyrdom of the 5th Imam, Muhammad al-Baqir, peace be upon him & Muslim ibne Aqeel, peace be upon him. Program to begin at 7:15 PM with Salatul Maghribayn, followed by Surah Yaseen,  Dua Kumayl and then the Majlis by Shaykh Shafiq Hudda, followed by Ziyarat Warith.
Refreshments to follow.
2. On Friday October 3rd (8th of Dhul Hijjah), Salatul Jumuah will begin at 1:15 PM led by Shaykh Shafiq Hudda.
3. On Saturday October 4th (9th of Dhul Hijjah), the community is cordially invited to take part in the recitation of the beautiful supplication, Dua Arafat, hosted by the University of Waterloo Quran Group (UW-Quran). Since the program will be completed by a light iftar, it requires registration - the  form can be accessed here:

Date: Saturday, October 4th
Time: From 5:30 pm to Maghrib time.
Location: MC Building, Room MC2054, University of Waterloo
Program details:
5:30 - 7:00: Recitation of Imam Hussain's Arafat Dua
7:15: Maghrib & Isha prayer
7:30: Iftar (light refreshment including bread, cheese, dates, eggs, etc.)
4. On Sunday October 5th (10th of Dhul Hijjah), we will be celebrating EID AL-ADHA. Program to begin at 10:30 AM with recitation of Dua al-Nudbah followed by Salat of Eid led by Shaykh Shafiq Hudda and concluded with Ziyarat of Imam al-Husayn, peace be upon him. There will a "Takbir Fun Game" for children after Salat.
Refreshments to follow and the program will conclude with Salatul Dhuhrayn in Jama'at. Reminder that there will be some people selling things such as Hijabs, shawls, Iranian Handcrafts, etc......


Introduction to Islam

Dennis Wholley meets Imam Hassan Qazwini, leader of the Islamic Centre in Dearborn, Michigan, to discuss the fundamental beliefs of Islam, and remove any misconceptions the general public may have. Many  Non-muslims have the idea that the Islamic clerics and leaders are hostile and unapproachable, however Dennis Wholley shows that the Islamic leaders (Imams) are normal people like you and I, striving for a better future for upcoming generations.

Drop-In Centre

The Islamic Humanitarian Service drop-in centre is open from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. We offer a fully-stocked Islamic book store, Library and area for offering daily prayers - including the only centre in the KW Region which offers Salaatul Jumu'ah [Friday prayer service]. To book visits or if you require a speaker for your public school or event, please contact us.
