Programs for the birth anniversary of our 12th Imam PDF Print E-mail
Salam Alaykum
** REMINDER: There will be a special LADIES ONLY program on Sunday May 31st at 4:00 PM at the IHS Centre to celebrate the birth of our 12th Imam. The speech will be delivered by the respected scholar from Toronto, Sr. Tahera Kassamali.

Program to celebrate the birth of the Saviour of Humanity, Imam al-Mahdi, may Allah hasten his glorious advent, will be held over two nights as follows.

1. On Tuesday, June 2nd, the program will start at Maghrib time (9:00 PM) with Salaatul Maghribayn in Jama'at. As it is recommended to fast on the 13th, 14th and 15th, we will give some time between the prayers and A'maal for people to break their fast - we will not be providing food. After fast-breaking, we will start the A'maal for the 15th of Sha'baan. Acts of worship on this night will take approximately 2 hours to complete. If you would like to recite any of the Surahs or Supplications, please let us know.

2. On Thursday, June 4th, the program to celebrate the birth of Imam al-Hujjah, may Allah hasten his glorious advent will be held. We will begin at 7:15 with Surah Yaseen, Dua Kumayl followed by the Majlis to mark the birth of our Imam by Shaykh Saleem Bhimji. We will conclude with Ziyarat and Salat, with refreshments to follow. Please note that there will be a class for our childen aged 7 to 12 in the library by Sr. Wafa Sadiq.

3. On Friday, June 5th, Salatul Jumuah will begin at 1:20 PM led by Shaykh Shafiq Hudda.

4. On Saturday, Jun 6th, we have a special program for girls aged 9 to 21 to be held at Bingeman's Park for mini-golf! Time is from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm and all young girls in our community are encouraged to attend.



Introduction to Islam

Dennis Wholley meets Imam Hassan Qazwini, leader of the Islamic Centre in Dearborn, Michigan, to discuss the fundamental beliefs of Islam, and remove any misconceptions the general public may have. Many  Non-muslims have the idea that the Islamic clerics and leaders are hostile and unapproachable, however Dennis Wholley shows that the Islamic leaders (Imams) are normal people like you and I, striving for a better future for upcoming generations.

Drop-In Centre

The Islamic Humanitarian Service drop-in centre is open from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. We offer a fully-stocked Islamic book store, Library and area for offering daily prayers - including the only centre in the KW Region which offers Salaatul Jumu'ah [Friday prayer service].
