Programs for May 5th and 6th 2016 PDF Print E-mail

As-Salaam Alaykum - السلام علیکم

Programs to be held at 81 Hollinger Crescent (IHS Centre) for this week are as follows:
1) On Thursday, May 5th  (27th Day of Rajab) we will be celebrating the Mab'ath and Me'raj of the Holy Prophet of Islam, and also holding the sufro/nadhr in the name of the 6th Imam, Imam Ja'far as-Sadiq, peace be upon them all, and holding the Thursday night (Shabe Jumu'ah) program. The program will begin at 7:00pm (PLEASE NOTE TIME) with the recitation of Quran, Surah Yaseen, Dua Kumayl, Qaseeda,  Majlis by Shaykh Hamam  (from Windsor),  followed by Salatul Maghribain at prime time, and ending off with Ziyarat-e-Warith.Refreshments will be served.

You need JavaScript enabled to view it There will be a special kids class in the library for ages 7-13 years taught by Al-Hajj Zaman al-Khafagi. Please note age, younger kids are not allowed in the class as they distract the other children.
2) On Friday, May 6th (28th Day of Rajab) Salatul Jumu'ah will begin at 1:20 pm led by Shaykh Hamam (from Windsor).


Introduction to Islam

Dennis Wholley meets Imam Hassan Qazwini, leader of the Islamic Centre in Dearborn, Michigan, to discuss the fundamental beliefs of Islam, and remove any misconceptions the general public may have. Many  Non-muslims have the idea that the Islamic clerics and leaders are hostile and unapproachable, however Dennis Wholley shows that the Islamic leaders (Imams) are normal people like you and I, striving for a better future for upcoming generations.

Drop-In Centre

The Islamic Humanitarian Service drop-in centre is open from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. We offer a fully-stocked Islamic book store, Library and area for offering daily prayers - including the only centre in the KW Region which offers Salaatul Jumu'ah [Friday prayer service]. To book visits or if you require a speaker for your public school or event, please contact us.
